The garden we designed, built, planted, and harvested during the eco garden series in 2009Participants will learn to grow their own food (and medicine) and care for their garden system using entirely self made and locally available products and holistic techniques!
Curriculum and Dates:

May 15th: 9am- 12pm- Building Garden Beds
Want to build a garden bed in your backyard? Join us to learn the basics! In this hands- on workshop, we will explore permacutlure and garden design, identify various garden building styles (rows, raised beds, sheet mulch), and build our own!
May 29th: 9am- 12pm- Companion Planting
Let the garden the work! Learn about different planting combinations to maximize the resilience and productivity of your garden system. Come sow seeds with us and discover which plants grow well together, and which do not.
June 12th: 9am-12pm Home Composting
Tired of donating to the landfill? Make Compost! In this workshop, we will learn how to design and build different compost systems, and how to effectively turn your food scraps into future feasts…
June 26th: 9am-12pm Basics of Biodynamic Gardening and Compost Tea
Holistic Garden Management! Join us to learn about caring for your garden system, from the roots up. We will discuss the difference between treating sympoms and treating the system… just like us, gardens need holistic care for wholesome product! We will review biodynamic agriculture, learn about soil science and microbes, and prepare compost tea!
July 10th: 9am- 2pm Tinctures, Salves, and Herbal Remedies
Learn to be your own herbalist! Join us to make herbal preparations from our garden and landscape! We will learn about ethical harvesting, explore the vast potential of local “weeds”, and make plentiful medicines that you can take home!
Garden Parties
August 28th: 5-9pm Garden pizza party*
Celebrate our new traditional mud oven made in the Natural Building Series and harvest from the garden to prepare a bountiful feast!
September 25th: 5-9pm A Taste of RBR*
Time to harvest, and time to celebrate! Participants will harvest the garden together, and learn how to put the garden to rest.
*Free admission to the garden pizza party and harvest potluck for students enrolled in Camp ReGeneration, the Eco Gardening or Natural Building Series!
