Eden Vardy

With a name that represents the garden of gardens, heaven on Earth, humanities ecological potential, Eden was set up to be a permaculturalist / eco – social design consultant from day one! Eden Vardy was born in Tel- Aviv, Israel and lived there until he moved to Aspen, Colorado with his family at age two (1988). He grew up to be another lucky Aspen kid, snowboarding, hiking, backpacking, and enjoying the outdoors. Eden finally accepted his individuality, his odd-ness, and his own opinions at the age of 16 (see entire story here in Career Review for Gaia University). After graduating high school and exploring the United States via 1976 volkwagen bus, Eden enrolled in the Evergreen State college in Olympia, WA to study environmental restoration. In Olympia, he studied ecological design, sustainable community, food systems, food politics, and non- profit green / business development, helped run a hostel, and volunteered with many community organizations. In 2006, Eden began to feel frustrated by his studies, too much talk and not enough action, and initiated a multiple year ecological tour of the world. He studied permaculture in Thailand, Laos, China, and Israel. Eden moved back to Aspen in the summer of 2008, motivated to start an organization that would integrate his values and learnings while inspiring ecological regeneration in the Roaring Fork Valley... Common Sense Regeneration Project was born!
Eden set up a permaculture demonstration site with / for children at an AIDS orphanage in Uganda in January- March 2008, and is working towards integrating this type of aide work part of his life and part of the non- profit.
Eden is now a student of Gaia University where he is doing his MS in Integrated Eco- Social Design. He plans to continue teaching workshops and hosting regenerative events in the Roaring Fork Valley.
Aside from Ecological Regneration, Eden loves playing percussion, stretching, spinning fire, drumming on his face, being with friends, making new ones, eating, cooking, cuddlling, and laughing!
Eden plans to never grow up.
